GLOBAL STUDIES II (REGENTS)
2014 - 2015 COURSE OUTLINE
TEACHER: Mr. Sabatino
1. All students are required to take the regents exam in June
Passing the Regents Exam is a high school graduation requirement
The Regents Exam counts as 1/5th of the students overall average for the course
Mastery Level for the Regents exam is 85% or higher
2. Students are expected to be to class on time and prepared to begin daily writing assignments at the bell.
3. Class Average is based on three categories:
Test Scores (multiple choice, thematic, and DBQ): weighted 100%
Tests are based on old regents examination questions
Writing assignments – weighted 75%
Class writing assignments will be given on a daily basis for writing assessment.
Class participation – weighted 75%
-Class participation is an integral component of this course. It is the expectation
that students will be prepared daily and active learners in the lesson. Students will
be called on to answer questions about global studies.
4. Extra help will be available as needed; students struggling with regents based testing
are expected to come for extra help in order to be prepared for the regents exam in
June.
5. Supplies needed for class:
Notebook; three ring binder – (hard cover –Global only)
notebooks will be checked and graded each marking period.

Global II is a challenging course and requires a good deal of effort to achieve success. Students are required to recall information from Global I as well as Global II, thus, it is important not to fall behind or lose focus.
